Who I am
My name is Daniel Dollinger. I am a CPA (Certified Public Accountant) and CFP® (Certified Financial Planner professional) with offices in Salem and Wilsonville Oregon. I have seen and dealt with a wide variety of problems in tax, accounting, investment management and in the financial planning process. I have owned my company for over 25 years and many of my clients have been there since the beginning. Some of those clients were from the person who I bought the company from. I was able to retain those people through a change in ownership. That is rare. Those people stuck by me because of the value I provide.
The Value I provide and How I Can Help You
People stick with me because I’m honest and forthright. I’m never going to try to confuse you with technical language in an attempt to trick you into a sale. My personal belief is that if something needs to be said, then it should be said simply. The purpose of telling people information is to educate the other person. I am appalled when I see people who unnecessarily reference the tax code, the law, or any other body of knowledge. Making a client feel stupid is a horrible way of repaying their kindness. I want to give you all the information you need so you can make the best decisions for yourself. Think of me as a teacher; my goal is to empower you. I will educate you and guide you every step of the way in the tax and the financial planning process. I will give you advice, but whatever you decide I will carry out to the best of my ability.
I offer everyone a free, no obligation, 30 minute consultation. There we can discuss what you need and we can figure out if I can help you. If you decide I’m a good fit for your needs, I’ll start working right away on whatever you tell me to do. If you decide I’m not a right fit, then I’ll do my best to refer you to someone else who is. While I would prefer if you stayed with me, I understand that you have to do what best for you. For most people (myself included) their biggest priority is their family. That is a belief that I respect.
My Credentials and Experience
I manage investment portfolios for over 50 different households in 5 different states. I have guided hundreds of people through the financial planning process. I have been a CFP® since 2000. I am well versed in investment theory. I have completed tax returns for almost every state in the country and prepare approximately 450 business and personal tax returns per year. In addition, I complete monthly financial statements and payroll for approximately 40 business clients. In the last twenty-five years, I have completed over 9,000 tax returns and 10,000 financial statements. Before I started my company I worked for several firms in California and Oregon.
I obtained my CPA license in California, scoring in the top 3%. I later obtained my CFP® to offer complete financial services and planning for my clients. Taxes are a critical part of every investment management decision. I am one of the few financial advisors who is licensed to provide both tax and investment management services. I am completely fee-only.
I am a member of the Financial Planning Association® (FPA®), the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), and the Oregon Society of Certified Public Accountants (OSCPA). I have a bachelors degree in Business administration from University of California Berkeley. My focus was in accounting and finance. I have a masters degree in Finance from Golden Gate University.

|Rate||Assets Under Management|
|1.00%||Between $125,000 and $750,000|
|.85%||Between $750,000 and $1,250,000|
|.80%||Between $1,250,000 and $1,750,000|
|.75%||Between $1,750,000 and $2,500,000|
|.70%||Between $2,500,000 and $3,250,000|
|.65%||Between $3,250,000 and $4,250,000|
A single rate is applied to the entire account. So a person with a $750,000.01 account pays less than a person with a $750,000 account. I will waive personal tax return fees for accounts over $1 million. For accounts that are above $5,250,000, we’ll need to discuss a custom rate.
